Bangkok is a massive and crazy city, and it seems like there is always something going on, and sometimes all you want to do is relax and chill. There are lots of ways to relax in Bangkok that will help you to unwind, and some of the best ones are listed below. Try one or try them all and learn how to relax when you are in the Big Mango, Thai style.
Enjoy A Thai Massage
An easy way to relax and work out all the tension in your body is to try an authentic massage which is readily available all over the city. One of the busiest areas with tourists for Thai massage, Sukhumvit, has many shops in the area, but you will find massage shops all over Bangkok, even where no tourists go, as the Thais love a good massage.
Watch A Movie
There are a lot of shopping malls all over Bangkok, and every one of them also has a cinema, so getting to watch a film is a simple task. Head to your nearest shopping mall and the cinema is usually upstairs, and for extra comfort, choose a sofa to watch your film in. Some of the fancier cinema complexes also offer waitress service so you can order drinks and snacks from the comfort of your seat.
A Ride Along The River
Whether you are a tourist or not, an excellent way to waste a couple of hours and see a different side of the city is to take a ride along the Chao Phraya River. Head to Sathon Pier, which is close to Saphan Taksin BTS station, and catch the boat up to Pak Kret, and then repeat the journey in reverse. You can grab a seat and watch the world go past as you float up and down the river.
Tai Chi In The Park
Wherever there is a park in Bangkok, you will see people in the early hours of the morning assembling in the green areas and practising Tai Chi, and sometimes yoga. Morning exercise is an excellent way to start the day and blow of the cobwebs and beginning the day like this sets you up in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Visit A Temple
There are many beautiful temples throughout Bangkok, and a visit to the nearest one to you may surprise you. As soon as you enter the temple grounds, there is a stillness compared to the bustling city, and they are an excellent place to explore or even meditate in the temple gardens.
